Winter Haul: Bath and Body Works

Bath and Body Works candles, slippers, room sprays, lotions, and other products.

It’s no secret that I love Bath and Body Works, so when I started working there this past holiday season, I had an even harder time resisting all the great sales.

I know spring is just around the corner (even if it doesn’t feel like that for many of us here in the States), but I wanted to share all the things that have helped keep things festive and cozy during this California “winter.” I picked up some old favorites, but the majority of what I got is new!

To no one’s surprise, much of what I bought was also candles. Like my last B&BW haul, I had to get my staple candle: Leaves. I ended up burning that a lot during Christmastime (which is why there isn’t any photos) and it was just perfect.

But before I could get my hands on Leaves, I ended up getting Harvest Gathering. My manager actually recommended it to me because she said they smelled similar. I have yet to burn this one, so I’m not entirely sure. Still a nice scent, though!

Marshmallow Fireside is another fall/winter must-have for me. It’s a nice balance of smokey and sweet, and the scent is noticeable but not overpowering. I bought two; the first one just has the most recent label but they’re the exact same scent otherwise.

Kitchen Spice candle from Bath and Body Works. Kitchen Spice candle from Bath and Body Works.

Kitchen Spice is a scent I’ve heard lots about, but never managed to get my hands on. I could only find Spice in the stores, but finally luck was on my side and I came across this! I would say this is a little sweeter (maybe “creamier” smelling) than Spice.

For the holidays, B&BW released a party-themed collection of candles. There were muskier scents like Black Tie and Party Dress, but I went with this fruitier fragrance: Champagne Toast. It’s citrusy and crisp, and a nice scent for any season. I also thought the decorative lid was pretty and I could reuse the candle jar for storage after it’s used up.

During the holidays, B&BW also released a Winter Market collection that included scents like Mulled Cider and Sweet Clementine. Surprisingly, I skipped on Sugared Lemons (for those of you who don’t know, I LOVE lemon!) and I picked up two Vanilla Lattes instead. It’s slightly sweet but has hints of spice as well. It actually reminds me more of a chai latte than a vanilla latte.

During the semiannual sale, I was thrilled to find a single Market Peach randomly perched on the shelf (fate?). When this candle first released in early 2013, it sold out instantly – even at the outlet. It smells like straight up juicy peaches, but it’s so nice! I have three or four in my collection now because I was worried about running out, but I’ve been to B&BW recently and they’ve brought it back this year!

Oh, and it’s Toby approved. ;)

Bergamot Woods candle from Bath and Body Works. Bergamot Woods candle from Bath and Body Works.

My sister is the one who introduced me to Bergamot Woods. It’s one of those perfume-smelling candles that’s described as “an aromatic woodsy blend, highlighted by bright bergamot, fresh lavender, and deep green cypress.” This has a slight musk and the lavender adds a nice softness – very luxurious!

Mahogany Teakwood is famous for smelling like an Abercrombie and Fitch store – and that couldn’t be more true. It also has notes of lavender, but they’re very faint in comparison to the mahogany, cedarwood, and oak. I think this is a little too strong for my taste, but my sister ended up liking this.

This final candle is something completely new to me because we didn’t carry this in the store when I worked at B&BW. I’ve done some research on it and apparently it’s part of the Prestige collection which features a lot of winter and ski lodge themed candles that are $30 each. Luckily for me, I found them at the outlet for $15 and got them for half off that as well. This scent is light, powdery, and fresh. My new favorite!

For some festive sparkle, I bought this pretty snowflake wallflower plug. It added a nice little touch to my bedroom during the holidays.

Peach Bellini wallflower bulb from Bath and Body Works.

Also during the semiannual sale, a lot of the fragrance bulbs were on sale. Some, like Peach Bellini, were $1-$2. The two-packs were $4-$5. I also picked up Apple Crumble, Caribbean Salsa, Sweet Pea, Twilight Woods, and Frosted Gingerbread.

Eucalyptus Mint room spray from Bath and Body Works. Frosted Cranberry room spray from Bath and Body Works.

Besides candles and wallflowers, room sprays have become one of my new favorite ways to fragrance a room. You don’t have to worry about a fire, using electricity, or switching out an empty bulb. I especially like spraying these in common areas like the hallways or stairway where people least expect there to be a nice aroma.

Amber Blush body cream from Bath and Body Works.

This winter, I found a new favorite scent: Amber Blush. Cashmere Glow used to be my favorite, but this is just stole my heart nose. It’s fruity and warm with a hint of champagne – a winning combo in my book.

Forever Red golden sugar scrub from Bath and Body Works.

Another new favorite of mine is Forever Red. I bought the body spray but the bottle is already down to the last 1/3, so it wasn’t worth showing. However, I clearly love the scent so when I found it in a body scrub, I had to get it. I’ve been wanting to try these scrubs for a while, so I hope they don’t disappoint.

C.O. Bigelow lemon lip cream from Bath and Body Works.

It’s been years since I’ve used any beauty products from B&BW (those glitter glosses were magic back in the day!), so I was excited to give this a try. I’ve heard a lot of great reviews about the lip treatments and balms, so this 100% natural lemon lip cream was a must.

Last but not least are these adorable lamb slippers that I was eyeing even before I started working at B&BW. I didn’t let myself buy them for the longest time, but eventually gave in when my coworkers got them. Gotta follow that herd, right?

What goodies did you get from B&BW recently? I’d love to know!
